Platform: Amazon US
Price: $39.99 with $10 coupon ($29.99 net)
Reviews: 10, 4.8 stars
Seller feedback: None (new account)
Current situation:
-
Daily sales: 8–9 units
-
Conversion rate: 11.28% (category average is ~6%)
-
I’ve tried increasing ad budget, but ACOS goes up and orders don’t move
-
Most customers are using the coupon (43 out of 46 orders had coupon)
My current ad setup:
-
One auto campaign
-
Manual broad campaigns (mostly targeting low-volume keywords, ABA rank 200k–500k)
-
One manual exact campaign for a few keywords
My thinking:
I’ve been targeting smaller keywords first because head terms in this category (auto parts) have huge CPC and I assumed conversion would be terrible. My plan was to start small and gradually move to bigger terms.
Where I’m stuck:
I can’t seem to get past 8–9 units/day. Adding budget doesn’t increase orders — it just makes ACOS worse. I’m wondering if the $39.99 pre-coupon price is scaring people off, but the coupon usage is high so maybe not.
I’ve already enrolled in Vine (30 units) and I’m working on getting seller feedback. Any advice on how to get from 8–9 to 30 units/day would be really appreciated.
Update:
Thanks for all the input — way more responses than I expected. Really appreciate it.
Quick update: orders hit 14 yesterday, but today it’s back to around 6–8. Still bouncing around.
A few things I’ve clarified based on comments:
-
Category conversion rate is about 6%; mine is 11.28%, so conversion isn’t the issue
-
I’ve been targeting smaller keywords (ABA 200k–500k) and avoiding head terms
-
My ad structure: one auto, manual broad, and one exact campaign
-
Vine is live but not fully claimed yet
-
I’m planning to add low-cost campaigns later, and SBV if I can get decent video footage
Appreciate any additional thoughts!

Your category conversion rate is 6% and you’re at 11%. That means your listing is stronger than average. You’re in a good spot.
The path to 30 units/day isn’t more of the same — it’s new traffic sources. You’ve already maxed out the small keywords.
Here’s what I’d try in order:
You’re closer than you think. Just need to widen the funnel.
I’ve been in this exact spot. Solid conversion, good reviews, but stuck at single-digit daily sales.
What helped me break out:
It took about 2–3 weeks, but eventually the volume picked up. Sometimes you just need to give it time and let the data accumulate.
Quick thought on your ad structure: you mentioned auto, broad, and exact. That’s fine, but you might be missing mid-funnel traffic.
Try adding:
Also, don’t be afraid to let ACOS run higher during launch. If you’re getting 11% conversion on small terms, you can probably afford to bid more aggressively to test bigger terms.
Your real bottleneck is reach. You’re targeting small keywords and hitting their volume limit. The only way to get more units is to expand into terms with more search volume.
One approach: use your current converting small keywords as stems. Take the ones that work, and build out broad/phrase campaigns around them. That way you’re expanding into related terms while staying relevant.
Also, once your Vine reviews come in, you’ll get a conversion boost. That might be the push you need.
Looking at your data: 11% conversion, 8–9 units/day, ACOS around 30%. For a new product, that’s actually solid.
The issue is you’re capped by the traffic volume of the keywords you’re targeting. If you want to break out, you need to go after bigger terms — but not all at once.
Try this:
Also, don’t expect instant results. Adding budget takes time for the algorithm to adjust. Give it at least 7–10 days before judging.
